Transcriptome Analysis Identifies Genes Associated with Chlorogenic Acid Biosynthesis during Apple Fruit Development

چکیده

As a predominant phenolic compound in apple fruits, chlorogenic acid (CGA) benefits human health due to its various antioxidant properties. However, little has been known regarding the molecular mechanism underlying CGA accumulation fruits. In this study, we measured content and relative enzymes’ activities during fruit development two different flesh-colored cultivars ‘Huashuo’ ‘Red Love’. The both decreased sharply from 30 days after full bloom (DAFB) 60 DAFB. Notably, flesh was relatively higher than that peel. Further, of C3H HCT enzymes downstream biosynthesis showed similar changing trend as content. Based on transcriptome data at DAFB DAFB, 23 differentially expressed synthesis-related genes were screened. Gene expression analyses further MdHCT1/2/4/5/6 MdC3H1/2/3 positively correlated variation cultivars. These findings establish theoretical foundation for study provide guidance nutrient improvement breeding programs.

The isolation of chlorogenic acid from the apple fruit.

Chlorogenic acid, the depside formed by the condensation of caffeic and quinic acids, was first obtained in crystalline form by Gorter (1909) from green coffee beans, although considerably earlier Ludwig & Kromeyer (1854) had noted the presence in the seeds of the sunflower of a compound which was undoubtedly chlorogenic acid. The acid was first thought to be a glycoside of caffeic acid, but Go...

Transcriptome Analysis of Syringa oblata Lindl. Inflorescence Identifies Genes Associated with Pigment Biosynthesis and Scent Metabolism

Syringa oblata Lindl. is a woody ornamental plant with high economic value and characteristics that include early flowering, multiple flower colors, and strong fragrance. Despite a long history of cultivation, the genetics and molecular biology of S. oblata are poorly understood. Transcriptome and expression profiling data are needed to identify genes and to better understand the biological mec...

Transcriptional analysis of apple fruit proanthocyanidin biosynthesis

Proanthocyanidins (PAs) are products of the flavonoid pathway, which also leads to the production of anthocyanins and flavonols. Many flavonoids have antioxidant properties and may have beneficial effects for human health. PAs are found in the seeds and fruits of many plants. In apple fruit (Malus × domestica Borkh.), the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway is most active in the skin, with the flava...

Identification and analysis of CYP450 genes from transcriptome of Lonicera japonica and expression analysis of chlorogenic acid biosynthesis related CYP450s

BACKGROUND Lonicera japonica is an important medicinal plant that has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The pharmacological activities of L. japonica are mainly due to its rich natural active ingredients, most of which are secondary metabolites. CYP450s are a large, complex, and widespread superfamily of proteins that participate in many endogenous and exo...

Transcriptome Profiling of Tomato Fruit Development Reveals Transcription Factors Associated with Ascorbic Acid, Carotenoid and Flavonoid Biosynthesis

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) serves as a research model for fruit development; however, while it is an important dietary source of antioxidant nutrients, the transcriptional regulation of genes that determine nutrient levels remains poorly understood. Here, the transcriptomes of fruit at seven developmental stages (7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 days after flowering) from two tomato cultivars (A...
